Techcrunch seems to be falling in-line with old media tactics:  Politicizing topics to get executive-insider favors.  They have become the Rupert Murdoch of tech blogs.

For example, check out this ridiculous, “anonymous” article at Techcrunch.

A clear example of an unworthy competitor crying for regulation of another competitor, this article falls flat for many reasons.  There is no discussion of the economic consequences of such proposed legislation;  the author is anonymous,  preventing a public exchange or debate; Techcrunch allows this anonymous editorial, but the editors offer no opinion of their own.  Indeed, I have even speculated that the anonymous author was one of the editor’s themselves!

I’ll leave it to this video to give the generic argument of why this article is ridiculous, and if the so-called anonymous author ever goes public, or the Techcrunch editors admit their bias and/or outright deceit, I’d consider arguing this in more detail.
